Why is business important? Everything you do involves business, whether it is balancing a cheque book (finance), figuring out how to sell your car (sales and marketing), understanding which shops have the coolest shoes (research), which sounds to listen to (buying behaviour, communications). The list goes on. Whatever you do in life, business is always at the core.
The reality today is that business is a major player in how the world operates. The skills that you will learn at the Business School can enable you to build on your strengths, to determine and create your own world.

The Business School – What is it? The Business School is New Zealand’s first secondary school whose mission is to train and develop high school students in the skills of business and entrepreneurship. We aim to be at the forefront of entrepreneurial and business education nationally.
The Business School’s strengths will be built on a relevant business curriculum supported by strong innovative partnerships with both national business communities and the academic world. As a result, our ultimate aim is to accelerate your learning so that you leave with a sound and practical understanding of business. We will endeavour to ensure you are confident in your ability to apply the skills learned within a business environment.

This is an introductory Business course covering the fundamentals of a small business enterprise, the use and recording of financial transactions and an insight into the reality of how our economy works.
