This course is for those students who would like to continue studies in Health. Students will complete six Achievement Standards over the year. The course covers concepts of Hauora, Eating Patterns, Strategies to Manage Mental Health, Understanding Sexuality Issues, Enhancing Relationships & Issues Around Drug Use.
This course has both class work and independent research components, both of which must be completed to achieve in this course. |

| Course Description: |
This course is for those students who would like to continue studies in Physical Education. Students will complete six Achievement Standards over the year. The course covers concepts of health, functional anatomy, biomechanics, fitness, how sport and physical activity are presented in the media, and develops skills to work successfully in a group or team situation. Students will also be assessed on their ability in a physical activity.
This course has both theory (classroom / written work) and practical components both of which must be completed to achieve in this course. Students will be expected to be changed into Onehunga High School Physical Education uniform to complete the practical components of this course. |

This course is for those students who would like to continue studies in Physical Education but would not manage the Level 1 Physical Education Course. The course focuses on completing four Achievement Standards, giving students more time to achieve the standards and allowing for more opportunity to get students involved in practical sessions.
The course covers anatomy and biomechanics and concepts of health and fitness. Students will also be assessed on their ability in a physical activity.
This course has both theory (classroom/written work) and practical components, both of which must be completed to achieve in this course. Students will be expected to be changed into Onehunga High School Physical Education uniform to complete the practical components of this course. |

This course expands on and develops skills and knowledge introduced in NCEA Level 1. Students will complete six achievement standards over the year. Students are expected to apply the knowledge that they learn to practical sporting/physical activity contexts.
The course covers concepts of health, functional anatomy and biomechanics, motor skill learning and fitness, how sport and physical activity impact on society, and safety management. Students will also be assessed on their ability in two physical activities.
This course has both theory (classroom/written work) and practical components both of which must be completed to achieve in this course. Students will be expected to be changed into appropriate clothing for sporting activities to complete practical course components.
Anyone wanting to do Level 3 Physical Education should choose this course. |

This course expands and develops on skills and knowledge introduced in NCEA Level 1 and 2. Students are expected to show a high degree of application of principles and skills learned in Level 1 and 2 to practical contexts.
The course requires the application of functional anatomy and biomechanics, motor skill learning and concepts of fitness and health to a variety of physical activity settings. Students will also be assessed on their ability in a physical activity and complete an investigation on how a physical activity issue or trend is impacting on New Zealand society.
