Questions for Onehunga High School Past Pupils.

Your name or name before marriage:
Campbell Aitken

Year you started at Onehunga High School.
1998-2001

What staff member made an impression on you - and why?
Mr Hannah. He was my form teacher. We didn’t get along too well and I don’t have fond memories of him

Any school rules or regulations you ran foul of? Think Detention!
Sure did. Everything from late detentions to not handing in homework, to getting suspended for bringing inappropriate items to school. Lucky for me I grew out of that sort of thing before senior school

Describe an outfit you wore to a school ball, social or after match function.
I wore a silver mohair suit to a ball in 7th form

School trips- any vivid memories of representing the school at sport, the arts or any other activity?
I was involved in starting the first school snowboarding team at OHS. We competed at the North Island Champs at Ruapehu. The funny thing was half of our team had never touched snow before. Our snowboarding attire was also comical with dishwashing gloves and duct taped work boots as some of us were a little ill prepared with the correct technical gear. It was a great trip with Mr Bowier (unsure of spelling).

Describe a memorable moment at a school assembly.
The music presentations at school were always fantastic. We had some very talented musicians in several genres coming through whilst I was there. Loved the music.

A piece of advice or information, or a class lesson you will always remember - and from whom (staff OR student).
Nothing comes to mind actually.

Describe something you excelled at while at school- conventional or unconventional.
Socializing. Meeting and befriending people from all sorts of cultures and all walks of life. Its amazing how many people from school Im still in contact with actually.

You’ve always wondered: whatever happened to… (name up to three people).

MS McLennan 1998 ( I think) She was a red headed geography teacher. Her classes were always interesting- you could tell that she was one of those teachers that really care.

You are now living where and doing what?
Currently living in Christchurch. I have been here for four years doing a degree in Adventure Recreation and Outdoor Education. Just finishing up now and working Ski Patrol up Mt Hutt and doing up a house. [Update 28 August 2007: Cam is now living and working at Whistler, British Columbia, Canada.]
