About The School

The Onehunga High School Adult Learning Centre offers part-time and full-time English language courses to adults, aged 16 years and over, for whom English is a second or other language. (Students aged 16 and 17 will be required to live in monitored homestay accomodation). Classes are open to enrolments from permanent residents, as well as overseas students who are studying on a student permit or visa. Currently, our students come from many different countries including China, South Korea, Thailand, Japan, Indonesia, Chile and Colombia. We have nine modern, well equipped classrooms, and there is a comfortable student lounge within our facility, in which students can relax, meet their friends and socialise together.

Our English teachers are all experienced and enthusiastic professionals who have a passion and flair for teaching English.

The Pathway to English Proficiency is approved by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority and Onehunga High School is accredited to teach it. Onehunga High School has agreed to observe and be bound by the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students published by the Minister of Education. Copies of the Code are available on request from this institution or from the New Zealand Ministry of Education website at http://www.minedu.govt.nz
