Conditions of Enrolment
Accommodation You must live in approved homestay accommodation.
Attendance Frequent or unexplained absences (over 15%) must be reported to the New Zealand Immigration Service and this may result in the termination of your Student Permit.
Discipline Procedures Onehunga High School expects you to behave in a courteous, responsible way. You are obliged to comply with all school rules.
English Language Proficiency It is a condition of enrollment that you have a basic level of English Proficiency before entering the school programme. If your entrance test does not meet this requirement a specialised English Language Course will be arranged and you must successfully complete this before your chosen programme of study can commence.
Medical and Travel Insurance Most students are not entitled to publicly funded health services while in New Zealand unless they are: · A resident or citizen of Australia · A national of the United Kingdom in New Zealand · The holder of a temporary permit that is valid for two or more years
If you do not belong to one of these special categories and you receive medical treatment, you will be liable for the full costs of that treatment. It is compulsory to have insurance for Travel, Medical and Fee Protection. Insurance can be arranged by the school through the company of your choice.
Your policy will cover: · Loss of fees through insolvency or cessation of your course · Travel to and from New Zealand · Medical treatment in New Zealand
Accident Insurance: The Accident Compensation Corporation provides accident insurance for all New Zealand citizens, residents and temporary visitors to New ZEaland, but you may still be liable for all other medical and related costs. Immigration Full details of visa and permit requirements, advise on rights to employment in New Zealand while studying and reporting requirements are available through the New Zealand Immigration Service, and can be viewed on their website at http://www.immigration.govt.nz
Motor Vehicles You must obtain special permission to own or drive a car to school. You must have a New Zealand driving licence.
Uniform Rules You must wear the regulation uniform.
