Social Science Teacher (History or/and Geography)

We seek a motivated, suitably qualified social science teacher to join our outstanding social science learning area 

The successful applicant will be an inspiring teacher of social science, geography and/or history, with the ability to teach NCEA social sciences courses from levels 1-3.  This is an exciting opportunity to work within a collaborative, highly successful, well-resourced area of the school, delivering programmes that are informed by best practice. 

The successful applicant will be an inspiring teacher with sound curriculum knowledge and a forward-thinking team member. They will have a willingness to grow as a practitioner, a commitment to our OHS values, and celebrate the academic success of all students. Music Teacher

We seek a motivated, suitably qualified music teacher to join our outstanding performing arts department.

Thinking About Becoming a Teacher?

Onehunga High School is proud to partner with the University of Auckland’s Teacher Education in Schools Programme and The Teachers’ Institute to support the development of future educators.

We welcome expressions of interest from recent graduates and those considering a career change. These in school training models allow you to complete your Graduate or Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching online through one of our partner providers, while gaining hands-on experience training onsite at Onehunga High School. You’ll be supported by experienced teachers and mentors, and become fully immersed in school life. Your university fees are covered, and a training stipend is paid throughout the year.
