Leader of Learning Area - Social Sciences - applications close 26 August

Onehunga High School is seeking an experienced and motivated curriculum leader to lead our social science learning area. This is a valuable opportunity for a capable educator to take the next step in their leadership journey.

The successful candidate will provide strategic and instructional leadership within the social science learning area, supporting staff development, overseeing curriculum and assessment practices, and continuing to raise achievement through evidence-based pedagogy.

Thinking About Becoming a Teacher?

Onehunga High School is proud to partner with the University of Auckland’s Teacher Education in Schools Programme and The Teachers’ Institute to support the development of future educators.

We welcome expressions of interest from recent graduates and those considering a career change. These in school training models allow you to complete your Graduate or Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching online through one of our partner providers, while gaining hands-on experience training onsite at Onehunga High School. You’ll be supported by experienced teachers and mentors, and become fully immersed in school life. Your university fees are covered, and a training stipend is paid throughout the year.
