Students Help Keep Onehunga Beautiful.

A group of young OHS environmentalists are organising members of our school community to join them at a planting day at the Onehunga Peoples Garden, located only a block from the school at 64 Arthur St.

The Onehunga Peoples Garden (OPG), is a not-for-profit organisation developed by the local community to care for and enrich the environment in Onehunga. Members have been removing rubbish, weeding, planting natives and restoring waterways since 2013.

Year Nine students, Anna Lighbody, Alex Lindsay and Maddie Rockwell are spearheading an initiative to set up a regular event and group of volunteers to support the Onehunga Peoples Garden. Their aim is to have the school adopting and caring for a particular area of the garden long term. They would love as many people as possible to join them this Sunday 23rd of June from 12 -2pm.
