Madeleine Works for Manungakeikei-Tāmaki Youth.

Madeleine ‘One’one, is an accomplished young person active in the school and community.

Maddy, who is a school prefect, received a scholarship to attend the Otago University ‘Hands-on Programme’ during the holidays and was selected last year for a ‘Youth Voice’ role for the Auckland Council.

This paid role is a part of the Auckland Council, Rangatahi Participatory Budget. Maddy joined a group of students from Maungakiekie-Tāmaki to administer a budget for youth recreation initiatives. Their group (Wayfynders), had to develop funding criteria, advertise grants rounds, evaluate applications, and allocate funding. Maddy is presenting to the local Maungakiekie-Tāmaki board summarising their work today.

Congratulations Madeleine. You are an outstanding role model for others. We are very proud of your considerable achievements and contributions you make to the community.
