The students in the Building and Construction School have begun house number 13!
For some years, we have built a house for Kāinga Ora. This year we are delighted to report that we are building a house for a family who bought a house from us some years ago. This is testimony to the outstanding quality of the finished product.
Students are working on the sub-floor, beginning a journey that will see them learn valuable skills and give them an advantage should they go on to an apprenticeship in the construction industry.
We are thrilled to have 3 young women in the class this year, Lile-Rose Sinisa, Litrunette Inu, and Bella George are determined to prove that girls are very capable of excelling in the building industry or allied fields. They all wanted to be outside in the elements, doing something physical and practical.
We have no doubt that as always our students will complete a high-quality house on time and on budget!
