The First Foundation Awards evening is always a very special one.
First Foundation and its scholarship partners, provide scholarships that transform the lives of those students fortunate enough to receive one.
This year was particularly special, as the evening was hosted by the highly entertaining actor, singer, and comedian Madeleine Sami, a Distinguished Alumni of Onehunga High School.
Guests heard from graduates of the First Foundation programme whose lives have been profoundly changed by the foundation's ‘hand up’, which includes financial, mentorship and work experience support. This year's recipients of scholarships were introduced and included OHS Prefect Jessica De Silva. Jessica will be aligned with ‘Spinnaker Capital’ a company that provides property development finance. She thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to connect with fellow scholarship recipients from across the country. While she has yet to finalise her study plans, she is considering a conjoint degree in Business and Law.
The foundation removes barriers to success, it allows students the space to achieve their dreams. Jessica is looking forward to her journey with the First Foundation and is very grateful for all the support they offer.
