Two inspiring young men have embarked on a remarkable journey in the construction industry.

Alumni Vaughan Cook and William Duncan were part of the OHS Construction School in their final years at school, where OHS have built a 3-4 bedroom house every year for the past 13 years. They both successfully contributed to building an OHS school house in 2015 and 2013, and fondly remember their time working on the build under the guidance of teacher David Eastwood. 

After completing their roofing apprenticeships, Vaughan and William pursued their careers with dedication. In 2019 Vaughan was awarded the prestigious title of Young Roofer of the Year and then in 2022, went on to start his own business, Cook Roofing Ltd, and employed William to work alongside him. Over the past six years, they have returned to work on the OHS Construction School house, bringing their skills and experience full circle.
