Year 13 Art Painting, Art Photography, and Art Design students had the opportunity to visit the current exhibitions at Auckland Art Gallery and Gus Fisher Gallery.
At Auckland Art Gallery, students explored both the modern art exhibition, featuring rare works by Vincent van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, and Claude Monet, and a range of smaller exhibitions. Seeing such iconic artworks in person was an incredibly special experience that the students thoroughly enjoyed.
Students then visited the Gus Fisher Gallery, where they viewed a Samoan weaving series and a performance art video installation. The diversity of mediums on display gave our students valuable insight into the breadth of artistic expression available to study and enjoy.
It was an inspiring and enriching trip that encouraged our students to aim high in their own art practices.
