Three-Way Conferences – Bookings Now Open

Three-Way Conferences – Bookings Now Open

As we begin the second half of the school year, Onehunga High School invites all students and their whānau to take part in our upcoming Three Way Conferences (3WCs). These will be held on Thursday 24 July from 2.30pm to 6.00pm, and on Friday 25 July, during Week 2 of Term

Three Way Conferences are an important part of the learning partnership between home and school. These short, focused ten minute meetings provide an opportunity for students, parents or caregivers, and Kaitiaki teachers to come together to reflect on academic progress, discuss goals, and plan next steps.

At this stage in the year, it is especially valuable to check in on learning progress and ensure students are on track to achieve their academic goals. For Years 9 and 10, the discussion will focus on curriculum levels across key learning areas. For senior students in Years 11 to 13, the focus will be on NCEA achievement, including subject endorsements and progress towards overall qualifications.

The conferences will also be an opportunity to discuss subject selection for 2026, which is now open through SchoolPoint, and to set or revise learning goals for the remainder of the year.

This is a key time for students to take ownership of their learning. When families are involved in setting goals and understanding progress, students are more likely to stay motivated and achieve success.

Key details

  • Thursday 24 July: School finishes early at 1.30pm. Conferences will take place from 2.30pm to 6.00pm

  • Friday 25 July: No timetabled classes. Students are expected to attend their conference and use the rest of the day for independent learning or assessment catch up

  • All students are expected to attend their conference in school uniform, ideally with a parent or caregiver. If a caregiver is unavailable, a Dean or senior staff member can support the student

How to book Bookings can be made through the SchoolBridge platform on the web or app. Once logged in, select Student Conferences from the dashboard and choose a time to meet with your child’s Kaitiaki teacher. Please note that this is not a subject teacher interview, but a meeting to discuss overall academic progress and planning.

If you are unable to attend in person, you may request a Google Meet for the same time or contact the Kaitiaki teacher to arrange another suitable time during the week.

We strongly encourage all students and whānau to take part in this important opportunity. Three Way Conferences help ensure that every student has a clear plan in place and is supported to achieve their goals for the rest of the year.

We look forward to welcoming you.
