Boston Tuiluluú 13 Ki and Taylah Stewart 13Pk took advantage of all that the Student 360 programme had to offer in the last holiday break.
The Student 360 programme offers students a taste of the world of work by organising paid work experience for a select number of students in the school holidays. This is a wonderful opportunity for committed students to experience what it's really like to work in a field they may pursue in the future and to find out whether they are suited to, or enjoy the work.
Boston pushed himself out of his comfort zone and went to work at Theta, a New Zealand-owned IT consultancy. While it was initially a confronting experience for Boston, he made the most of the experience, learnt a lot, and impressed everybody, as the feedback demonstrates,
“Boston did such an amazing job. We are all very proud of Boston, especially the team at Theta, he completely stepped out of his comfort zone and even completed an individual presentation at the end of his experience in front of the whole Theta team. He was very nervous leading up to it, but he absolutely smashed it!”
Taylah, who is thinking of pursuing a career in law, was very fortunate to spend time at MinterEllisonRuddWatts, one of the largest full-service legal groups in the Asia-Pacific region. Taylah thoroughly enjoyed the experience, especially her visit to the High Court. She too impressed, as the team at Student 360 reports.
“Taylah has been amazing, she’s been loving absorbing lots of new information and has been super polite and respectful to both the Student360 team and the team at MinterEllisonRuddWatts. She is an absolutely amazing student who will definitely do very well in the future!”
We commend both Boston and Hayley for being proactive in the pursuit of their respective future pathways and congratulate them both for the success they made of the opportunity they were given.
