The OHS Service Council continues to play a leading role in fostering a spirit of service and compassion within our school community. Dedicated to supporting those less fortunate than ourselves, the Council has provided students with meaningful opportunities to give back and make a positive impact.
The Service Council members encouraged and organised interested students to join the SVA Student Volunteer Army, taking part in valuable community service projects. These experiences have not only benefitted local organisations but have also helped students to grow their leadership, empathy, and teamwork skills.
The Council has also been instrumental in fundraising efforts, most notably raising an impressive $1142 for World Vision through the 40 Hour Famine. This contribution will go directly towards supporting vulnerable communities around the world, helping to provide food, clean water, and education to those in need.
Currently, the Service Council is focusing its efforts on Daffodil Day, rallying support from students and staff to raise funds for the Cancer Society. Their continued commitment reflects the values of generosity and service that OHS strives to instill in its students. Every dollar we raise will go towards vital cancer research, support services, and community initiatives.
Through their actions, the OHS Service Council inspires us all to serve others and create positive change.
