It was a pleasure to welcome guests to the school last night to show in a small way our appreciation for their support of our school. Thank you also to the whānau of our young chefs for coming to experience the wonderful food their children produced.
Students from the senior Catering and Food and Hospitality classes hosted the evening, serving delectable canapés worthy of any menu. The featured savoury bites included such taste sensations as: fried chicken pancakes, pork bonbons, smoked salmon tartlets, mini crab doughnuts, vegetarian spring rolls and so much more. It was plentiful and delicious! The beautifully presented dessert bites were a treat. Think, almond cream-filled eclairs, mini passionfruit meringue tarts, Danish pancakes and various chocolate delights.
The evening showcased the impressive culinary skills our students have acquired and provided another authentic experience for them, while providing an important assessment opportunity.
Thank you to the students, Mr. Ryan Thom, Ms. Karen Coleman and Mrs. Shital Wati for their hard work and professionalism.
Thank you to our guests. We hope you enjoyed the evening as much as we did.
