On August 29, Lisa and Sarah Hellyer represented Auckland at the NZSSAA Regional Road Relay Championships, competing in the 4 x 2000m cross-country final.

 Running as part of the Senior Girls’ A team alongside McManus and Robb, the sisters helped secure an outstanding gold medal with a time of 33:01. The event combined the women’s, mixed, and Year 9 boys’ races, which added to the excitement and created thrilling head-to-head battles for the spectators. The Auckland team’s strong performance not only saw them claim the win but also finish ahead of the Year 9 boys’ teams.

The sisters are now preparing for the Australian Secondary Schools Cross Country Championships. We wish them all the very best and look forward to hearing from them on their return.
