Over the holidays (20th of September), I had the incredible opportunity to attend Central Model United Nations (CMUN), which was held at St Cuthbert's College.
CMUN is an annual event that brings together students from over 50 schools across Auckland. It’s an event that encourages young people to think critically, debate global issues, and collaborate to find creative solutions. It's also a re-creation of the actual UN, so we step into the shoes of world leaders.
I had the honour of representing our school as the delegate of Australia. Throughout the event, I took part in engaging discussions, formed alliances with other delegates, and presented speeches on world topics that challenged my perspective. It was an inspiring experience that strengthened my confidence in public speaking and gave me a deeper appreciation for global cooperation and leadership.
I would encourage any student who is interested in issues facing the world to participate in this thoroughly enjoyable event.
