Senior Media Students Showcase Their Talent.

Senior Media Students Showcase Their Talent.

The Senior Media Students premiered their original short films at an evening hosted by the Mangere Arts Centre.

On Tuesday, 14 October, the Mangere Arts Centre welcomed our Senior Media students who premiered their original short films, ranging from moving documentaries to spine-tingling horror trailers.

A highlight of the evening was seeing our Level 3 students introduce their documentaries and share the hard work that went into telling powerful stories from their families and communities. Their heartfelt storytelling and technical skill impressed the audience.

Adding to the celebration, three talented students, Snow Ba, Emerson Rockell, and Rotralea Lavea, received their Media badges, recognising their achievement across three years in Media Studies and three impressive film projects.

We would like to express our thanks to OHS alumnus Jason Manumu'a, actor, playwright, and mentor to emerging Pasifika Creatives, who is based at Nga Tohu o Uenuku (the Mangere Arts Centre), for all his help in putting together this most enjoyable evening. Thank you, to Mr. Jeff McKay, for all his work inspiring his students. Congratulations to all the students who produced work, that was truly entertaining and informative.

It was a night of creativity, passion, and pride for our OHS Media whānau.
