Our Waka Ama team represented Onehunga High School with teamwork, pride, and resilience on the water.
On Saturday, 1 November, our Waka Ama team proudly represented the school at the College Sport Junior Regatta. Despite having only two on-water training sessions, the team showed impressive commitment and enthusiasm.
They placed third in their initial heat, earning a spot in the plate final. Against tough competition, they held their own and secured another third-place finish in the final.
A huge thank you to Kathy and Andrea from Portage Crossing Waka Ama Club for their invaluable support in preparing our paddlers for race day. We also extend our gratitude to Ayla Jacobs for her help organising extra paddles and supporting the team throughout the event.
