HONOURING THE LEGACY OF DAN KEYS

HONOURING THE LEGACY OF DAN KEYS

The OHS Past Pupils Committee is reinstating the memorial plaque dedicated to former student Dan Keys and his family.

The OHS Past Pupils Committee has been focused on acknowledging those who have made a significant contribution to the school over the years. Their latest project is reinstating the memorial plaque on the stone plinth overlooking the sports fields.

The fields were officially opened in 2005 and dedicated to Dan Keys, former Head Prefect (1991) and First XV Captain, who passed away in 2001 while living in London. The dedication also recognised the Keys family, who have had a long association with the school.

The original plaque was stolen some years ago and never replaced. The Committee, represented by Rhiannon Boulton, has led the project to restore the memorial, ensuring this important part of OHS history is acknowledged once again.

Past students, families, and friends are invited to attend the unveiling and reconnect with others in the OHS community.

Memorial Unveiling Date:

  • Saturday 15 November Time: 10.30am (approximately)
  • Location: OHS Sports Fields at the memorial plinth
  • Details: Informal gathering and a friendly game of touch for those interested.
