For many students, Year 10 camp is the highlight of their time at OHS.
They leave the school on the first morning excited, nervous and a little unsure of what is to come. They return, tired but buzzing with excitement. All the students have had at least some experiences that they have not had before. They have been pushed way out of their comfort zones and challenged themselves in ways many have never done before. They are more resilient, more confident and more likely to take on challenges. They have formed new friendships and bonds with students they did not necessarily know before the camp. They have been supportive of each other and their teachers, whom they may see in a new light. They have had a tremendous amount of fun!
Huge thanks must go to their dean, Ms. Sarah Wang, for her unparalleled organisation and to all the teachers who attended the camp, who went above and beyond to care for and nurture our Year 10 students.
Overall, Camp Adair offered a memorable opportunity for personal growth, strengthening friendships, building confidence, and encouraging students to embrace new experiences with courage and enthusiasm.
