The transition day held yesterday for Year 8 students entering OHS in 2026 was an opportunity for them to experience a taste of life at OHS.

Divided into six groups, they moved around the school to attend six different classes: Drama, PE, Science, Creative Expression, Visual Arts, and had a tour of the school. Year 9 student leaders accompanied the groups, answering questions and providing valuable advice on how to maximise all the opportunities available to students at OHS. Those students wishing to participate in the timetabled sports academies stayed behind for trials and information sessions. Trials for the before and after-school academies will take place next year.

We are excited to welcome our Year 9 students for the first day of school on Thursday, the 29th January. All new students will be welcomed with a pōwhiri at 8.45am.
