The final formal event of the year was the Junior Prize Giving, a celebration of our students' many academic, sporting and cultural achievements.
The ceremony held in the gym yesterday opened with a Karakia led by Dornia Silupe-Ulumani.
Principal Shameen Hayat welcomed and thanked whānau and friends for joining us to recognise so many of our students who had lived OHS waka values, to strive for personal excellence, and had achieved their individual goals. Ms. Hayat thanked the staff for the dedication, energy, and expertise they bring every day. She acknowledged the Senior Leaders, Deans, teaching staff and support staff, all of whom play an important role in ensuring each student reaches their own personal goals.
Serene Foulangi performed a beautiful Niuean cultural dance to an appreciative audience. Dornia Silupe-Ulumani and Aiveni Fahina gave a stunning performance of Stan Walker's song of praise and gratitude, ‘ Whakamoemiti’.
