Year 10 student Dayley Myks delivered an exceptional performance at the U16 New Zealand Touch Nationals, helping Counties Manukau secure bronze and scoring nine tries across the tournament.
Dayley and her Counties Manukau teammates travelled to Christchurch last week to compete in the U16 New Zealand Touch Nationals.
The competition was fierce, with 17 top teams from across the country vying for the title of National Champions. In an impressive display of skill and determination, Counties Manukau clinched 3rd place, taking home the bronze medal. The "icing on the cake" for Dayley was her incredible scoring record, finishing the four-day tournament with a total of nine tries.
At 14 years old, Dayley was among the youngest players in the U16 division. This experience puts her in a fantastic position for the future, as she has two years of eligibility remaining in this age group to further develop her game.
The OHS school community is incredibly proud of Dayley’s success and her contribution to such a high-achieving team. Ka pai, Dayley!
