Twelve Onehunga High School students braved the heat yesterday, joining over 300 competitors from across Central Auckland for the latest round of secondary school orienteering.
Today’s course covered 1.6-2km, featuring significantly more complex navigation through school buildings than last week.
The team showed great grit, with many students setting personal bests. Our students held their own against a massive field, securing several impressive finishes:
1st Place: Xavier White (Year 10/11 Boys) – A fantastic victory!
7th Place: Reese Kilpatrick (Year 12/13 Boys)
Top 20 Finishes: * Shea Mendis, Ren Sughara, Arlo Gould and Greer Kilpatrick. The competition moves to the Mount Roskill campus.
March 17th: OHS is proud to be hosting the sprint event! We encourage everyone to come down to spectate or participate. The students have officially laid down the gauntlet! They are challenging the OHS staff to join the race on March 17th to see who the fastest teachers really are.
A huge thank you to Ms Brown for her hard work with coaching and coordinating transport for the team.
