Yesterday marked the final day of the five-part School Sprints series, the last chance for our athletes to earn points for the Auckland SS Sprint Finals in two weeks.
While the full list of finalists is still being finalised, Xavier White is a guaranteed qualifier after achieving a clean sweep with first-place finishes in every event this series.
Held at Auckland Grammar and St Peter’s College, yesterday's event saw the great progress our team has made in both navigation and speed, now shifting its focus toward the North Island SS Champs this April.
This Week's OHS Results in the Top 20:
Xavier White: 1st Yr 10/11 Boys
Shea Mendis: 19th, Ren Sughara - 14th Yr 10/11 Boys
Reece Kilpatrick: 11th - Yr 12/13 Boys
Alexandra Lindsay: - 18th - Yr 10/11 Girls
A huge thank you to Scott Collins and Tess Brown for their ongoing support and for providing transport, allowing OHS students to thrive in "lesser-known" sports. A special thank you to parent Sonja Herrmann for coaching the team and providing weekly reports, as well as great photos!
New students are always welcome! Orienteering is a "learn as you go" sport, and there is an extensive program of events still to come throughout the year.
