Xavier White and Reese Kilpatrick have qualified for the Auckland Sprint Finals after a standout orienteering season, with Xavier entering as top seed.
The Auckland Sprint Finals are set for 29 March, bringing together the top ten competitors from across the Auckland zones for a double race day. With qualification secured, Xavier White and Reese Kilpatrick will represent Onehunga High School at the event.
The final round of the Central Zone Sprint Series was held at Auckland Grammar School, wrapping up a highly competitive season. Xavier White delivered an outstanding performance throughout the series, completing a clean sweep in the Year 10 to 11 Boys grade with five wins from five events. He advances to the finals as the top seed.
Reese Kilpatrick has also qualified for Finals Day after a consistent season and will compete in the Year 13 Boys grade.
Both athletes now progress to the Auckland Championships, with opportunities to continue on to the North Island Championships. The season is shaping up to be a strong one for orienteering at Onehunga High School.
