Ruby finished strongly to claim bronze in the Open Girls 2km race walk at the Auckland Championships

Congratulations to Ruby on an excellent performance to close out the championships. She claimed bronze in the final event of the meet, finishing third in the Open Girls 2km race walk at last week’s Auckland Secondary School Athletics Championships.

The race opened at a strong pace, led by the defending champion from Epsom Girls Grammar, leaving a close contest for the remaining podium positions. Ruby remained composed through the early laps before making her move on the third lap to break into the top three. She then extended her lead on the final lap to secure third place. Great result.
