At Onehunga High School, the final bell doesn't always mean the end of the day!
For a dedicated group of students, it’s just the beginning of their journey into the world of business and innovation through the Youthtown Enterprise programme, Building Entrepreneurial Capital [BEC].
Designed to bridge the gap between school and the "real world”, the programme tackles authentic challenges—not just turning a profit; they’re learning to adapt, collaborate, and lead. Research shows that building these "enterprise muscles" early leads to better long-term wellbeing and career success.
Mr Miller, Leader of Learning Area - Business School, has been impressed by the drive shown by this year's cohort. “The students are showing real commitment just by turning up each week for this after-school programme,” says Mr Miller. “They’re seeing the long-term value for their future and realising that they have the power to be the best they can be.”
Youthtown Enterprise continues to prove that when you give young people the right environment, their potential is limitless.
