A high performance football tour combining elite coaching, strong competition, and key preparation for the upcoming season.
The ten day tour began with the classic Coogee to Bondi walk, before moving into a demanding block of training with Sydney FC’s academy. The facilities and coaching were of a very high standard, giving students a genuine insight into a professional football environment. The intensity of the sessions, combined with the Sydney heat, made for a challenging but rewarding experience.
There was plenty of football throughout the tour, with matches against local schools and clubs providing tough opposition and valuable learning opportunities. The girls secured a well deserved win against Brigidine College, while the boys competed strongly and showed resilience across all their fixtures. Each game was an opportunity to apply what had been developed in training.
Off the pitch, there was just as much taking place. Students enjoyed visits to Sydney attractions, shopping trips, time at the rooftop pool, and a standout day in Manly. The ferry ride, time at the beach, and a picnic by the ocean pool were definite highlights.
The tour concluded at the Western Sydney Wanderers’ facilities in Blacktown. Watching professional teams train, meeting players, and collecting signed gear made for a memorable experience. The Wanderers also hosted a competitive five a side tournament, providing a great way to finish the tour.
The group was also fortunate to attend an A League match between Sydney FC and the Western Sydney Wanderers. This was complemented by a stadium tour of the impressive CommBank Stadium in Parramatta.
Overall, it was an excellent tour that combined high quality football, valuable development opportunities, and lasting memories.
