Prospective families gained an insight into the learning, opportunities, and positive school culture that continue to shape our students’ success.
Last night, we hosted our annual Open Day and Information Evening for prospective parents and students. The event was very well attended, with more than 300 people coming through the gates across three guided tours of the school.
The Principal spoke about the many recent successes of the school, including the outstanding academic results achieved in 2025. She highlighted the school’s strong focus on quality teaching and learning, excellent staff, and a positive learning culture underpinned by our WAKA values and a strong can-do attitude. She also spoke about the school’s readiness for upcoming curriculum changes, noting the depth of experience within the staff, many of whom have taught Cambridge and IB programmes.
Head Girl Lydia MacDonald shared her experiences as a student at the school and spoke about the many opportunities available to students, including leadership roles, co-curricular involvement, and the supportive school environment.
Our Year 9 student speakers, Hazel Argent and Jackie Chen, also spoke exceptionally well about their transition into secondary school and their experiences so far. They confidently shared their perspectives on settling into school life, the friendships they have formed, and the wide range of opportunities available to students. Both students represented the school with maturity and confidence, speaking warmly and positively about their experiences.
Prospective families were then taken on tours of the school by our prefects, who proudly showcased the learning areas and provided opportunities for parents and students to speak with both staff and current students.
The evening generated many positive comments, with families commenting on the welcoming atmosphere, the confidence of our students, and the strong sense of pride across the school community.
Our second and final Open Day and Information Evening for the 2027 cohort will be held on 17 June. We encourage all prospective families and all those intending to enrol or considering attending the school to join us for the evening.
