Diversity Day celebrated the 54 cultures that make up OHS.
Diversity Day at Onehunga High School took place last Friday and celebrated the 54 cultures that make up our school community. Students had the opportunity to learn more about different traditions languages and backgrounds while showing respect and appreciation for one another’s cultures. One of the highlights of the day was seeing students wear cultural clothing and proudly represent their heritage. Students also shared performances throughout the day including traditional dances music and cultural presentations which were enjoyed by both students and staff.
With many nationalities represented at OHS Diversity Day is an important way of recognising and celebrating the diversity within our school. The day brought students together and reinforced the importance of learning about appreciating and respecting the many cultures that make up schools and communities across Aotearoa.
