Congratulations: Anna Lightbody Excels at North Island Diving Championships

Anna Lightbody won one gold and two silver medals at the North Island Springboard and Platform Diving Championships.

Congratulations to Onehunga High School Year 11 student Anna Lightbody, who delivered an outstanding performance at the 2026 North Island Springboard and Platform Diving Championships held in Wellington from 22–24 May.

Competing in the Under 18 age group, Anna achieved excellent results across all three of her events:

  • 🥇 Gold – 3 metre springboard
  • 🥈 Silver – 1 metre springboard
  • 🥈 Silver – Platform (5–10m)

The championships brought together many of New Zealand’s leading young divers, with athletes competing across springboard and platform disciplines that require exceptional strength, precision and technical skill.

Anna’s achievements reflect her commitment, discipline and talent within the sport, and her results place her among the leading young divers in New Zealand for her age group.

Onehunga High School congratulates Anna on her outstanding success and wishes her all the best for the remainder of the diving season.
