Cast members took part in a professional stage combat workshop as they prepare for the battles, betrayals, and murders of Macbeth.
Today, cast members from our upcoming production of Macbeth took part in a fight workshop led by NZSSCS (New Zealand Stage and Screen Combat School).
During the session, students learned how to safely perform stage combat with swords while creating the illusion of realistic fight scenes for the audience. The workshop focused on technique, control, and safety, helping students build the skills needed for live performance. These skills will play an important role in bringing Macbeth to life, with the cast preparing for the battles, murders, and betrayals that drive Shakespeare's famous tragedy.
The workshop was a valuable opportunity for students to learn from industry professionals while developing their confidence and performance skills as they continue rehearsals for the school production.
We look forward to seeing the cast put their new skills into action when Macbeth takes to the stage later this term.
