Year 9 Science students explored engineering through a hands-on workshop led by University of Auckland engineering students.
Year 9 Science students took part in an Engineering Outreach workshop this week, delivered by SPIES SI'I (South Pacific Indigenous Engineering Students) from the University of Auckland. The workshop introduced students to engineering and the different pathways available through university study. Students learned about the various fields of engineering, what engineers do, and how engineering can be applied to solve real-world problems.
The SPIES SI'I team also shared their experiences as current engineering students, giving our students an insight into university life and the opportunities available through tertiary education. The sessions were held during Year 9 Science classes on Tuesday and Wednesday and provided students with a valuable opportunity to explore future study and career options in STEM-related fields.
Thank you to SPIES SI'I and the University of Auckland for sharing their time and knowledge with our students.
