Student leadership and service were central to this year’s Daffodil Day.

This week, Onehunga High School’s Service Council led our Daffodil Day fundraising, supporting the Cancer Society and its work with people and families affected by cancer. The day provided another opportunity for our student leaders to organise an event that contributes to the wider community. Service Council members organised and ran a bake sale and sausage sizzle, taking responsibility for preparing, coordinating and selling food throughout the day. 

Students and staff across the school supported their efforts by donating, purchasing food and getting behind the fundraising. Through their work, the Service Council raised more than $800 for the Cancer Society. The event was a good example of student leadership in action, with students taking responsibility for an initiative that supports others in our community. Thank you to our Service Council members for their work and to everyone across OHS who supported Daffodil Day.
