Students considered how culture and religion can shape leadership.

Last week, ten Year 12 students participated in the Leadership Diversity Day, an annual event hosted at Unitec’s Te Noho Kotahitanga Marae. Through guest speakers and extended discussions, students explored different perspectives on leadership and considered its relationship with cultural diversity.

An important part of the day was the opportunity to connect with students from other Auckland secondary schools. Our students shared their own thoughts, values and ideas while listening to the experiences and perspectives of others. The discussions encouraged them to think more deeply about leadership within diverse communities and the importance of understanding different viewpoints.

Thank you to Mrs Sarah Cotton for organising the visit and to our students for their active participation throughout the day. We look forward to seeing them apply what they learned through their leadership and involvement at OHS.
