Congratulations to Year 11 student Jane Deacon on qualifying for the 2026 Hip Hop Unite World Championships.

We are excited to share that Year 11 student Jane Deacon has qualified to represent New Zealand at the 2026 Hip Hop Unite World Championships, being held in Tauranga from 29 to 31 October. Jane earned her place at the World Championships after competing with her DANZA Studios team at the Hip Hop Unite New Zealand National Championships in Lower Hutt in May. The team successfully qualified through a competitive national selection process, securing the opportunity to compete against dancers from around the world.

Since qualifying, Jane has been undertaking extensive training with her team in preparation for the international competition. Competing at this level requires considerable dedication and many hours of practice outside school. The World Championships will provide Jane with an opportunity to perform alongside some of the best hip hop dancers from around the world.

We are very proud of Jane and her achievement in qualifying to represent New Zealand. We wish her and the DANZA Studios team every success at the World Championships later this month.
