OHS students have the opportunity to enter National Mathematics Competitions. These competitions provide valuable opportunities for students to challenge themselves academically, gain recognition and build confidence.
Competitions benefit students by enhancing their critical thinking, problem-solving and research skills. For senior students, participation can strengthen university applications.
If students enjoy mathematics and relish a challenge, they should consider the following competitions:
University of Otago Junior Maths Competition. 7th May
Australian Maths Competitions. 5th - 7th August are open to Juniors and Seniors.
Mathex. August, open to junior students.
