Lisa and Sarah Hellyer delivered outstanding performances at the NZ Secondary Schools Cross Country Championships in Whangarei.

 Competing in the Senior Girls 4000m on Saturday, Lisa placed 3rd in 14:43 and Sarah 5th in 15:05, out of 121 runners. Their top-10 finishes qualify them for possible selection to the NZSSAA team for the Australian Championships in September.

 On Sunday, they ran for the Auckland Senior Girls A team in the 4x2000m relay—Sarah ran third, and Lisa anchored the team to an exhilarating first-place finish overall. It was an exciting race to watch with the girls closing a significant gap and overtaking the leading Waikato Bay of Plenty team.  An impressive weekend for the Year 12 sisters!
