Start of the Year Booklet – Preparing for 2026

Our Start of the Year Booklet helps new students and families prepare for a confident and informed beginning at Onehunga High School in 2026.

As we approach the end of the year, our attention also turns to welcoming new students and families who will be joining Onehunga High School in 2026. Starting at a new school is an exciting time, and we want to ensure that every student and whānau feels confident and well prepared for the year ahead.

To support this transition, we have created the Start of the Year Booklet. This guide is designed primarily for our new students and contains everything you need to know about beginning at OHS, from key dates and uniform information to the school timetable, what to expect, where to go on the first day, and how to get involved in school life.

We encourage families to take the time to read through the booklet carefully, as it answers many of the common questions about starting secondary school and helps ensure a smooth and successful beginning to the year.
