Anna Lightbody Delivers Strong Performances at Australian Age Diving Championships

Competing for New Zealand, Anna Lightbody secured top-eight finishes across two events in Australia.

Year 11 student Anna Lightbody has delivered a series of strong performances while representing New Zealand at the Australian Age Diving Championships.

Competing in the Under 18 (A age group) category in her first year at this level, Anna performed impressively against older and more experienced athletes. Her standout results included two top 10 finishes, placing 8th in both the 3m Springboard and the Platform (5–10m) events. She also achieved a solid mid-field result in the 1m Springboard in a large and competitive field.

Anna also competed in the 14–18 Girls Synchronised event, where she and her partner placed 9th, rounding out a consistent set of results across multiple disciplines.

These performances are particularly notable given Anna is only 15 and competing up an age group, highlighting her continued development and capability at an international level.

We congratulate Anna on her achievements and look forward to following her continued progress in diving.
