Over 200 students achieved 100 percent attendance in Term 1 and were celebrated in a special “100 for 100” prize draw.
Onehunga High School is proud to celebrate the commitment and dedication of 206 students who achieved 100 percent attendance in Term 1, representing around one fifth of the school.
This outstanding effort has contributed to a noticeable lift in the school’s overall attendance rate and reflects a strong culture of engagement.
To recognise this achievement, all students with perfect attendance were entered into a special “100 for 100” prize draw, with the winner receiving a 100 dollar reward. The draw took place at a full school assembly, where excitement built as the spinning wheel selected the winner. Congratulations to Year 12 student Jeremy Shao, whose name was drawn on the day.
Jeremy is thriving at Onehunga High School and is a great example of the positive impact of consistent attendance. He shared that his favourite subject is Biology with Ms Brennan, who he describes as a great teacher who supports all students to understand key concepts and ideas so they can make strong progress. Looking ahead, Jeremy is keen to pursue engineering at university. He says he enjoys coming to school each day, and that the kindness and support of his teachers and friends motivates him to do his best.
We congratulate all students who achieved 100 percent attendance this term and encourage everyone to continue building strong attendance habits throughout the year.
