Four Onehunga High School students have been acknowledged for their professionalism and commitment during their Gateway placement.
Four Onehunga High School students, Jamie Glassie, Thurston Mataki Kaiaruna, Danero Williams and Kayne Haddon, have been formally recognised following their Gateway placement at Mitre 10 Onehunga.
The Mitre 10 team commended the students for maintaining full attendance and excellent timekeeping throughout their placement. They were described as polite, respectful and willing to learn, consistently following instructions, working safely and interacting professionally with staff and customers. Their positive attitude and reliability made a strong impression, with the employer noting they would be considered for future part time opportunities.
Gateway Coordinator Maree Forsyth acknowledged the feedback and will present each student with a Onehunga High School Superstar Award in recognition of their achievement. The Gateway programme supports students to gain real workplace experience while still at school. It helps develop practical skills, builds confidence and prepares students for future employment.
Onehunga High School thanks Mitre 10 Onehunga for their continued support of the Gateway programme and for providing meaningful opportunities for students.
