M.O.A. Rocks the Rockquest Auckland Central Final

Year 11 band M.O.A. delivered two original songs at the Rockquest Auckland Central Final, with vocalist Xavier Nakatsuji earning the APRA Lyric Award.

Last Friday night, our Year 11 rock band M.O.A. took to the stage at the Rockquest Auckland Central Final held at Auckland Girls' Grammar School. Having earned a place among the region's top twelve acts, the group performed two original songs to an impressive standard in front of a large audience and judging panel.

Adding to the evening's success, vocalist Xavier Nakatsuji was awarded the prestigious APRA Lyric Award for his songwriting. His lyrics explored themes of social justice and included strong anti-war sentiments, demonstrating thoughtful songwriting and a powerful message.

Reaching the Auckland Central Final is a significant achievement, and the band's performance reflected the hard work and creativity they have developed throughout the year.

A big thank you to the whānau, friends, and staff from our kura who came along to support M.O.A. on the night. Congratulations to Xavier and the entire band on this outstanding achievement.
