Students will receive their Academic Summary this week, providing an opportunity to reflect on their progress, celebrate success, and identify next steps for learning.
Every three weeks, students receive a hard copy of their Academic Summary. This helps them understand what is going well in their learning and where they need to focus next to stay on track for success. Kaiāki teachers will support students to review their progress during Mentor Time as they prepare for Three-Way Conferences in Week 2 of next term.
We want all students to take ownership of their achievement, understand their progress, and know what they need to do to continue improving. Whānau support and encouragement remain an important part of this process.
Students and families should also remember that a wide range of academic support is available. Every learning area offers tutorials and support sessions, and students are encouraged to speak directly with their classroom teachers if they need help with their learning. Homework Club runs every Monday and Thursday after school for one and a half hours, providing a supervised environment where teachers are available to assist students with their learning. At the same time, we are committed to ensuring every student is challenged in their learning. Our goal is not only to provide support where needed, but also to stretch and extend every learner so they can achieve their personal best.
A copy of the Academic Summary will also be available through the KAMAR Portal. We encourage whānau to take time to review the summary with their child, discuss what is going well, identify areas for improvement and talk about goals for the remainder of the year. If you have any questions about your child's progress or learning, please contact their Kaiāki teacher, who will be happy to help or connect you with the appropriate subject teachers.
Thank you for your continued support of your child's learning and achievement.
