L3 Tourism students experienced one of New Zealand's leading international tourism destinations through authentic, real-world learning.
Our Level 3 Tourism students recently visited the world-renowned Hobbiton Movie Set, experiencing one of New Zealand's most iconic tourist attractions as tourists themselves. As part of their Tourism studies, students explored how Hobbiton delivers a world-class visitor experience.
Guided by a knowledgeable tour guide, they learnt about the history of the site, the importance of customer service, and the elements that make Hobbiton a leading international tourism destination. With beautiful weather throughout the day, students enjoyed exploring the picturesque movie set before finishing their visit with a buffet lunch in the Celebration Marquee.
The trip provided an authentic learning experience, allowing students to connect classroom learning with one of New Zealand's most successful tourism operations. It was a memorable day that was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
