Year 10 PE students enjoyed learning new skills during AFL New Zealand coaching sessions.
Our Year 10 Physical Education students recently took part in AFL New Zealand coaching sessions, giving them the opportunity to experience one of Australia's fastest-growing sports. The sessions introduced students to the fundamentals of Australian Rules Football, including handballing, kicking the oval ball, and understanding the basic rules of the game. AFL New Zealand coaches led a range of engaging drills before students put their new skills into action through modified games.
The sessions were full of energy, with students embracing the challenge of learning a new sport while developing teamwork, coordination and communication skills. It was great to see so many students getting involved and enjoying the experience.
For those keen to continue playing, AFL New Zealand also provided information about local clubs and competitions, giving students the opportunity to stay involved in the sport beyond school.
