The school holidays provided valuable preparation for the second half of the netball season.
During the school holidays, our Premier Netball team took part in the Pre-UNISS Te Haerenga Tournament, a mini tournament hosted in Onehunga High School's state-of-the-art gymnasium. The event brought together teams from Otahuhu College, Marcellin College, Auckland Girls' Grammar School and Tamaki College, providing high-quality match play and valuable preparation for the demands of UNISS Tournament Week. Thank you to Sarah Michelle Hansen-Vaeau for organising the event.
The tournament was well supported by families, creating a fantastic atmosphere across the two days. Congratulations to our Premier team on an excellent performance, finishing second overall after a strong weekend of netball. Thank you to Gina and Sha for their support throughout the tournament and to coaches Jeremie and Sei for their ongoing commitment to the team.
It was also great to see so many players attend the Netball Academy during the school holidays. The academy sessions provided another opportunity for athletes to develop their skills and continue their preparation for the second half of the season. The academy is now on pause and will resume at a later date.
After a well-deserved break, Onehunga High School's netball programme is back in action this weekend, with just five competition games remaining before the end of the season. We wish all of our netball teams the very best for the remaining five weeks of competition as they continue to represent Onehunga High School with pride both on and off the court.
